We have made considerable progress on our thesis. We have researched our venues and decided of Founders Hall at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. We have also decided on a date. It will either be April 19th and 20th or the first weekend of April, depending on if Ms. Ellis is available to judge our thesis. We have started our lisencing and even started a campaign on indiegogo to raise money.
I have also been accepted into University of A&M Commerce. I am making progress on my college apps.

Thesis entry for the last few class periods
So far I have applied to University of Maryland, UT Dallas, A&M Commerce, and University of Minnesota. I have been working on the others as well as finding a mentor for my thesis. I also finished my annotated bibliography for my thesis.
Right now I am dealing with an application crisis concerning an unsent transcript to Maryland, since the deadline already passed. Mr. Villa was supposed to send it, and told me he did, however, the college doesn't have it on file. Mr. Correa and I are working to correct this.
So I will be working on that problem, as well as other applications and things concerning my thesis.

Thesis
The past few classes I have still been working on my college applications. I just need to revise my application to Maryland, and then it will be sent in. Today, I applied online to University of Minnesota. I am sending my transcript in the mail today. I also sent off my scores for SUNY Albany, UIC, Warren Wilson, Minnesota, Austin College, UT, UTD, and A&M Commerce. I also called into Maryland to check to see if they received my scores and transcript. I am getting close to the end of all my applications.

The website wouldn't load correctly so I am writing this all in the title, but anyway. Today in thesis class I edited my resume and I dealt with a problem with my teacher recommendation letter. My first deadline for U of Maryland is Nov.1, and I am just reviewing and editing the application at this point. After that I will be working on my common app since one of my colleges is due on Nov.15.

Class
Last class I worked on my essays that I will be submitting to University of Maryland, as well as the short answers. (I just need to complete this and I will be done with this application, after ensuring my transcript and recomendations were sent.)
This class I spent my time advancing my Common Application status. (For SUNY Albany and University of Illinois- Chicago.)

Thesis class
After our class was done with our presentations, I worked on my essays and short answers for my application to the University of Maryland. For that application, I just have to finish those and make sure my transcript, letters of recommendation, and test scores are sent out. (It is due Nov.1, but I want to get everything in by Oct. 15.)
This class period Maria and I wrote an email explaining our plans for our thesis to someone who could possibly help in getting us a partnership with Dallas Theater Center. I also worked on my short answers again.

Today in Thesis Class, I spent half the period attempting to get internship badges (unsucessfully), and the other half researching SUNY Albany. I have also refined my colleges to 7 total, now. These include University of Maryland- College Park, SUNY Albany, University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, Washington State University, UTD, Austin College, and TAMU- Commerce. If I had to pick a top college, it is a close run between Maryland and Albany, but I think I will favor Albany. However, I will only make my desicion once admission statements are recieved and I have toured the colleges.

Thesis Class
Most of class I spent reorganizing all of my school work, since the way I was organizing it previously was not working out. This also involved making my own binder for college applications to keep straight all of the passwords and due dates and such. I have also been researching Peace Corps information, since I will be applying after I graduate college, and I need to know what experience will be required.
Thesis class on 9/11/12
I spent my class time starting my account on Apply Texas, and starting my application to A&M, A&M Commerce, UTD, and Austin College. We also collaborated with Ms. Ellis, our previous theater teacher and temporary mentor about our proposals to theaters. We will begin working on our presentation to the class soon.

Thesis Class on 9/7/12
I spent my class time making an account to start my application to SUNY Albany, and filling in basic information. I researched important information about the application and researched possible ideas for the essay topic. I will possibly analyze the painting Winter Solstice by Roger Winter, a prominent dallas artist, however, I am debating whether that would be an impressive essay or not. I have already analyzed it and seen it up close in person, and I think I could make a strong argument.

Thesis Class
In Thesis class, I finished my senior survey, after complications with my flash drive. I also started to revise my college resume, when the netbook automatically restarted for some new update. While waiting for it to resume, I started reading in a theater textbook I bought from Half Price Books and helped Maria take her picture for her SAT registration. The netbook came-to with only a minute left in class, so I will be finishing the revisions at home.
Planning Board
Here is a picture of our planning board. We started this over the summer to try and keep organized. It has some basic ideas like the names of plays we were looking into and our ideas for them. Since we chose Alice in Wonderland, we also found some names of companies to buy the rights for the show, as well as basic procedures for gaining the rights. We have also listed the theaters we are looking at, and their contact info. We brainstormed fundraising ideas beyind asking for donations, and for what we would need the money. (Porops, sets, costumes, possibly lights and sound, etc.) This will not be a place for our primary records, but it helps to organize everything happening at the moment.

Class Accomplishments
Today I worked on my Senior Survey, made especially for college recommendation letters. However, due to my indecisivness and other circumstances, I was not able to completely finish one or two questions. The last 20 minutes, I was focused on trying to align my schedule with Maria's, so we could have Thesis together, and therefore be able to accomplish much more. Luckily, by lunchtime, we finally had both of our schedules in place. (I had to change my schedule 4 times!) We also constructed our blog layouts so that we could link our blogs together. You should stop by her blog! It is the first link in the pannel to the right.

A New Level
As I am preparing for college applications and senior thesis, I cannot help but notice the world has bumped me up to a new level of immaturity. Thus, I must rise to the occasion and develop a proper independent attitude to conquer this new experience. You have to start somewhere, I guess.
So, here it is. My first step of a thousand more to follow.
I have decided to direct a play for my senior thesis. However, I do not want to go about this in an unprofessional manner, as you would do so for something produced in a high school. My hope is to partner with a professional theater, and be able to have the production be showcased there with help from their trained and experienced crew. I think not only would this give me a better opportunity, but it would also be a better representation of how you actually produce a play. Now, a production this size will be a hard task to pull off, but luckily one of my peers, Maria, wants to do the same thesis. We partnered together and are now co-directors. We agreed I would do more of the direction and casting type jobs as she would do the sets, props, costumes, etc. We will, of course, collaborate and help each other, but it was a mutual decision that we each have the final say in our field.
As for planning, we have already began to meet and discuss our hopes and ideas for this project. We have even picked our play, Alice In Wonderland. We chose this because we felt there was much room for artistic interpretation on both of our parts. (Not to mention it is a fun show!) Now we are looking at our script options and preparing for our proposal to the theaters.
I believe that this will be a long and difficult project, however I also believe that when everything is said and done, it will all be worth it.
